Workshops on internet video publication has been held twice in Yogyakarta, involving different communities in each event. This workshop introduced several web pages and portals that provided video streaming facilities as well as videos to be downloaded. Presenters were from EngageMedia, a community from Australia that operates video portal http://engagemedia.org. There is no specific requirement for those who want to upload video to the portal, only the choice and emphasis of content that is limited to topics of art/culture, social justice, and the environment. In addition to providing basic knowledge on the facilities available at their portal and similar services, they also provided reference on open source software.
This workshop was IVAA’s response to the latest context in the development of visual arts and creative practices, of which digital technology and information has become an inseparable part, and in general has changed the cultural structure of the younger generation globally.
