This research using visual method aims to describe small waves of domestic clashes and cultural changes on individuals, families, or community groups. Indramayu was chosen as the location for this research because this region is a major rice-basket, supplier of oil-cased products, as well as supplier of domestic workers. The issues that were raised to be processed further in visual media include: farmlands, employment, domestic worker trafficking, prostitution, “contract marriages”, high levels of divorce, low quality of education, inter-village clashes, and poverty in a fertile region. In partnership with the Regional Government and Indramayu Council of Art, the artists were involved through periods of residence and observation in Indramayu, before deciding on a certain issue or working with the community in Indramayu.
