This discussion was part one from five parts of discussion on art critique. The goal was to stimulate the development of critique on works, activities and other art activities. Gelaran Budaya was one of the exhibition halls that had been active in Yogyakarta, and was established on the initiative of Galam Zulkifli, Dipo Andy, Nugroho Wantoro, and other artists. Gelaran accomodated art practices mostly by students from ISI Yogyakarta. Since it opened in December 1999, they have held weekly discussion forums on art, publishing houses and bookstores.
