David Thomas was the second residency hosted by IVAA in 2008. The process during the first month was no different to the habits of other artists in residence, that is, observing. It was his first experience directly observing Indonesia (Jogja), and it did not go as smooth as he expected. He was involved in a performance with Lima Gunung Community, although he did not follow through with that collaboration. During his residency he held a presentation and created video work about traffic accidents, trans-lingua and the the issue of pornography legality.
